In last night’s debate Fred lowered the hammer on Mike Huckabee, pointing out among other things his liberal tendencies. (H/T – HotAir)
In one of the best lines on the debate I’ve seen, Steve at No Runny Eggs had this to say of Fred’s performance:
Get me my shades. He had Huckabee’s breakfast, lunch and dinner, and dined on McCain’s snack while tossing back New York Times’ martinis.
The sleeping giant has been awoken and last night’s debate was just a preview of what’s to come. Trust the strategy.

Underdog,
The 11th commandment basically says to not speak ill of your opponent. Last night Fred didn’t speak ill of Mike Huckabee. He pointed out the truth about Mike’s policies as Governor.

All of American Politics has become devisive. Trust me, I watched the debate, I saw the segments, the HAMMER indeed came down.
Shakespere…”hang the lawers”
I would add to that … James Carvel and Karl Rove.
Gone is the statesman running for office to advance the ideals of this great nation by leading with a vision, and reaching out to opponents with quiet confidence.
Anger, rage, and now rants fill the airwaves, soundbites, adds and new media.
When Ronald Reagan was debating Jimmy Carter it was a quit, non venemous quip of humor that gently distinguished the two…. “well… there you go again…”
I fully understand that the nature of debate is to discuss an issue or policy point from different positions. DEBATE is both necessary and healthy.
But the American People, and indeed the rest of humanity needs statesmen to debate – not gladiators or animals marking territory.
Panum et Circensis – do we want theater and blood, or leadership articulating a vision for the way forward in this new century?

What I saw from Thompson last night was a statesman. As in every other debate he came across as the adult. The difference was that last night he pointed out his differences with Mike Huckabee. At some point that had to be done, the problem is that there is this perception out there that by pointing out a person’s record is an attack. If you look at the things Mike has been saying and his record as governor he has liberal tendencies along the lines of the Democratic Party. Fred has a vision for this country based on conservative principles that was on display last night. I would encourage you to check out his website fred08.com to learn more. I would also encourage a visit to the Pinnacle Cascade site which is on the blogroll to see how unlike Fred the others aren’t consistent conservatives.

Fred did not violate the “11th”, he simply told the truth about Huckabee,… who responded this morning on Scarborogh’s show with insults about Fred being in a bad mood and needing some Metamucil…. so who broke that commandment?!
