"Before anything else, folks in Washington ought to be asking first and foremost, 'Should government be doing this? And if so, then at what level of government?' But they don't."
So what exactly does Barack Hussein Obama have in terms of legislative accomplishments? I mean he has been a U.S. Senator long enough to have had some, right? But wait - how can you have accomplishments when you spend your time running for another office instead of doing your elected job.
Todd over at KagenWatch points out that you can’t trust a word Congressman Kagen says. Actually can you even believe him? Here’s the latest ad Congressman Kagen is running in the 8th district.
So let’s take a look at this ad. First we have two totally outrageous claims.
First up - “everyone in Wisconsin is living in their cars.” That’s quite hilarious because myself and most of the people I know have a roof over their heads.
Second up - ”people are now taking part-time jobs just to pay for the gas to get to their full-time jobs.” Now there are people who work more than one job but let’s draw this out. If you are doing what Kagen is claiming how do you get to the part-time job?
Now let’s look at the empty talk from the Congressman about what needs to happen now to become energy independent.
Point #1 - Drill Now for New Oil
Point #2 – Invest in Renewable Energy
Point #3 – Prevent Price Manipulation
First Congressman Kagen states we need to Drill for New Oil Now. Guess what? There’s legislation on the table for that. Here’s what the American Energy Act would do:
Open our deep water ocean resources, which could provide an additional 3 million barrels of oil per day, as well as 76 trillion cubic feet of natural gas;
Open the Arctic coastal plain, which could provide an additional 1 million barrels of oil per day;
Allow development of our nation’s shale oil resources, which could provide an additional 2.5 million barrels of oil per day;
Increase the supply of gas at the pump by cutting bureaucratic red tape that hinders the construction of new refineries.
Second Congressman Kagen states we need to invest in renewable energy. Guess what? There’s legislation on the table for that too. Here’s what the American Energy Act would do -
Spur the development of alternative fuels through government contracting, the repeal of the “Section526″ prohibition on government purchasing of alternative energy and promotion of coal to-liquids technology;
Establish a renewable energy trust fund using revenues generated by exploration in the deep ocean and on the Arctic coastal plain;
Permanently extend the tax credit for alternative energy production, including wind, solar and hydrogen;
Eliminate barriers to the expansion of emission-free nuclear power production.
If Congressman Kagen was clued in on energy he would announce support for the American Energy Act and call on his Washington DC bosses to allow a vote on it. But that won’t happen because he’s just giving voters empty words as he trys to save his hide. Thankfully we can vote him out of office come November.
Well looky here, Barack Hussein Obama doesn’t like to be criticized or have the truth exposed. His cronies are trying to convince the Justice Department to prosecute free speech.
“We reiterate our request that the Department of Justice fulfill its commitment to take prompt action to investigate and to prosecute the American issues Project, and we further request that the Department of Justice investigate and prosecute Howard (sic) Simmons for a knowing and willful violation of the individual aggregate contribution limits,” he wrote.
He called the group’s activities “patently illegal.”
Apparently Barack Hussein Obama and his cronies need to read up on the first amendment.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Police in Denver arrested an ABC News producer today as he and a camera crew were attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk of Democratic Senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting at the Brown’s Palace Hotel.
Police on the scene refused to tell ABC lawyers the charges against the producer, Asa Eslocker, who works with the ABC News investigative unit.
A police official later told lawyers for ABC News that Eslocker is being charged with trespass, interference, and failure to follow a lawful order. He also said the arrest followed a signed complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel.
Eslocker was put in handcuffs and loaded in the back of a police van which headed for a nearby police station.
It was two hours later when Denver police arrived to place Eslocker under arrest, apparently based on a complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel, a central location for Democratic officials.
During the arrest, one of the officers can be heard saying to Eslocker, “You’re lucky I didn’t knock the f..k out of you.”
Eslocker was released late today after posting $500 bond.
Barack Hussein Obama and company just showing how things in his administration will be if you search for truth.
The following letter is being sent to Fred Thompson from his supporters. If you supported Fred’s run, feel he is still the best choice and believe there needs to be an alternative to John McCain be sure to either mention your name in the comments (and they will be forwarded to be included on the letter) or visit here and add it.
Dear Fred,
We, the undersigned, represent the continuation of Fred08.com. We want to thank you for inspiring us to fight for the nation and our Constitution. Your presidential run inspired us to stand up for representative government as laid out by the Founding Fathers. We vary in our decisions on whom to vote for in November, but all of us agree that in order to keep the American dream alive, you should renew your candidacy at the Republican National Convention instead of approving McCain’s nomination. We think it unnecessary to expound on how McCain has shown disregard for the Constitution, and we all have high respect for you, the REAL master of straight talk. Your mother’s health was in our prayers while she was healing from pneumonia. May God bless you and your family. Each of us will continue to Stand Strong for our American values and Principles, and hope that you will continue to share the only message that made sense to us. First Principles.

Nancy Pelosi and company held a press conference in Denver to unveil yet again a “new” (actually rehashed and old) energy plan. They mocked some visitors who showed up.
Notice how the hypocrites then leave their press conference?
Well, well, well 19 days have passed since Congress recessed. Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats just don’t get it. While in Denver for the Democratic National Convention Nancy held a news conference to unveil another energy plan. Republicans quickly pounced.
The Democrats’ energy record is one of empty rhetoric and broken promises, and that’s why they have no credibility with the American people. Energy independence was a signature campaign promise of Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats in 2006, yet their chronic negligence in addressing record gas prices continue to have devastating consequences for working families, small businesses, seniors and schools. For proof look no further than the fact that Speaker Pelosi adjourned Congress for a five-week break instead of allowing a simple up-or-down vote on the American Energy Act to reduce fuel costs.
“House Republicans are offering an ‘all of the above’ strategy to lower gasoline prices by increasing production of American energy, promoting more conservation and efficiency, and encouraging the use of more alternative and renewable fuels. The American people support our plan, and they have every right to demand that Speaker Pelosi allow a vote on our energy reforms. They deserve more than yet another Democratic scheme that will do nothing to lower gasoline prices or reduce home heating costs. House Republicans’ unprecedented nationwide gas prices protest entered its fourth full week yesterday, and we will not relent until we secure a vote on our ‘all of the above’ energy reforms on behalf of working families and small businesses who need our help.”
“Clearly, Denver’s rarefied air has gone straight to Democrat leaders’ heads for thinking that their ‘new’ energy plan is anything more than a rehash of the broken promises and failed policies of the past.
“Here we are exactly 600 days removed from the beginning of this Congress, and only now are Democrat leaders getting around to proposing a so-called ‘comprehensive’ plan for energy independence. Maybe one of the reasons for this failure of leadership is because, as we have learned in recent days, Speaker Pelosi does not even know that natural gas is a fossil fuel, or that it will require increased exploration of American natural gas to make use of it. Whatever the case may be, it is disconcerting that Democrat leaders continue to pat each other on the back for a job not done while American families are struggling.
“Moreover, Democrats have demonstrated their glaring lack of credibility on this issue in ironic fashion by proposing an energy plan in the very same city where for months they had been getting their gas tax-free while Coloradans were scrimping and saving to pay their fair share.”
“The Democrat energy plan is to ‘drive small cars and wait for the wind’ … Well this reminds me of the people of France who were starving, and the Queen was told that the people had no bread, and her response was to say ‘let them eat cake’”
Americans want action while Nancy and her friends prefer to be on a five week vacation. In other words these so-called politicians prefer to ignore the will of the people instead of actually doing what they were elected to do.
This was started over at Wake Up America by Jessi in an attempt to get our supposed Representatives and Senators in Congress to WAKE UP to the problem of rising energy costs. It will continue every Tuesday until the allowing of more domestic drilling takes place.
My Gas Price (the Green Bay, WI metro area): $3.68/gallon for regular unleaded.
American needs to drill here drill now. America is having a energy crisis and we need to do something now!
U.S. law prohibits the development of approximately 38 billion barrels of undeveloped oil resources (19 billion barrels onshore and 18.92 billion offshore).
U.S. law prohibits the development of approximately 180 trillion cubic feet of undeveloped natural gas resources (94.5 trillion cubic feet onshore and 85.7 trillion cubic feet offshore).
Also did you know that …
CONGRESS RECENTLY VOTED TO MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO DEVELOP U.S. OIL SHALE RESOURCES
With oil prices at an all-time high, Americans are facing escalating gas, diesel, and aircraft fuel increases. Oil prices are projected to increase further.
Congress, however, has made it illegal to develop vast domestic oil resources in large parts of the United States.
The most startling Congressional prohibition on domestic oil production concerns the recently enacted ban on the development of oil shale resources in parts of Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming in the Green River Formation. According to a Rand Study estimate, this reserve contains over one trillion barrels of oil, with 800 billion barrels fully recoverable, or three times the current oil reserves as Saudi Arabia.
I thought about how the landscape has changed in my years of ministry and in my experience in the Lutheran Church. If there’s ONE thing that stands out, surely everyone will agree it is the changes to our worship. There was a time when you really could just about bet on either p. 5 or 15, and if you had a certain kind of parish, maybe Matins. But Lutherans didn’t obsess on liturgy; they just worshipped. They followed what was in the book (more or less – we’ve never been ones for liturgical straight-jackets).
And then enter the whole contemporary worship scene (which should really be called by what it is: the adoption of the liturgy of the Pentecostals and Charismatics). What has been the result?
Are our churches stronger in mission than they were when the liturgy was honored nearly across the board in our Synod? Do we send more or fewer missionaries? Are our people more united now than they were then? How about our support of Synod – stronger or weaker? Is our preaching better or worse? How about our catechesis? Our confessional commitment?
Now I’m just a layperson but having been one that wanted to see more contemporary worship at one time only to now desire the traditional divine services, I’d agree that all contemporary worship does is bring disruption and disillusionment (because the focus is no longer on the Theology of the Cross). So I think the answers those questions are worse and weaker.
Now if the point could just be driven home that to reverse course and make things better and stronger a return to divine worship and an elimination of “flavor of the month” worship in the LCMS is what is needed. We want the focus back on the “Theology of the Cross” because that’s what we need to hear every week.
