R.I.P. Helen Bies

Republican Party activist Helen Bies has died at age 84.
She started her political career working for Barry Goldwater’s campaign for U.S. president in 1964.
She later co-chaired Ronald Reagan’s presidential campaigns in 1976, 1980 and 1984 and was a key manager for Lee Dreyfus‘ gubernatorial campaign in 1978.
She served on the Republican National Committee from 1980-1992 and was a delegate to several Republican national nominating conventions.
She was a member of the Electoral College in 1980 and 1984 and was appointed by President Reagan to the Commission on Presidential Scholars from 1981-88.
Although officially retired in 1992, she remained politically active throughout her retirement years. (Source: GOP activist Helen Bies dies – Fox 11)
