Best Fan Sign of the Year

Seems someone at last night’s Packers game got the last laugh on a cheater.

The Packers are the heart and soul of Green Bay. Fans own “stock” in the team, and season tickets are a valuable commodity. That made tickets to the Christmas night game with archrival Chicago either the best gift a fan could find under the tree, or (if her sign is to be believed) a perfect way to get back at a cheating boyfriend.

Best fan sign of the year: Packers fan uses game tickets to get back at cheating ex

Well played, Packer fan. For your use of tickets to get back at the ex and a clearly-written sign that let fans across the country know you were smart enough to move on, you win the Shutdown Corner sign of the year.

Ouch.

Christmas Blessings

To the readers of Try2Focus, friends on Facebook and those following me on Twitter – Merry Christmas!

On this day of celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, let us remember these words from Isaiah, chapter 9.

6For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.

Last night many of us likely sang “Silent Night, Holy Night” at church in candlelight.  Those candles served as a reminder to us all.  In the 11:00 pm service I attended these words were spoken by the Pastor during the candle lighting:

“As the light of these candles illumines our faces, it reminds us of Christ, our Light, the child in the manger at Bethlehem, a Savior suffering our death on the cross, and soon to come from His throne on high as Judge of all.  He is our Light here on earth and the eternal Light who enlightens heaven, where there is no need of candle or sun.  Rejoice! The Light of the World has come.  That light transforms us with the brightness of His glory.”

Remember to shout it from the mountaintops and throughout the land – that Jesus Christ is born!

Christmas blessings to all as you celebrate the true meaning of Christmas today.

The Nativity of our Lord Jesus

From the Holy Gospel of Luke.

1And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed.

2(And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.)

3And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city.

4And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:)

5To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child.

6And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered.

7And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.

8And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

12And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

14Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

15And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.

16And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger.

17And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.

18And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.

19But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.

20And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them.

Oh come let us adore Him, Christ the Lord.  Joy to the world! Merry Christmas!
