This time in Kenosha.

A Virginia-based packaging company says it plans to lay off about 65 workers from its office-products group in Kenosha.

MeadWestvaco Corp. informed the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development of the job cuts in a letter received Tuesday.

The company says it has about 150 people at its envelope facility in Kenosha. The layoffs represent about 43% of that total.

Plant manager Albin Narvaez says the job cuts will start in early to mid-August.

Shares of MeadWestvaco were down a penny to $16.70 during regular trading Tuesday. Shares dipped another 8 cents, or 0.5%, to $16.62 in after-hours trading.

Hmm wonder if the impending business climate planned by Governor Doyle and state Democrats played a role in this decision?
