Plant manager Albin Narvaez says the job cuts will start in early to mid-August.
Shares of MeadWestvaco were down a penny to $16.70 during regular trading Tuesday. Shares dipped another 8 cents, or 0.5%, to $16.62 in after-hours trading.

Hmm wonder if the impending business climate planned by Governor Doyle and state Democrats played a role in this decision?
