Back in the D3 Title game

That’s where the St. Norbert hockey team finds themselves after an exciting game last night.

The St. Norbert College men’s hockey team finds itself in a familiar situation: in the championship game at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Freshman Cody Keefer scored the deciding goal with 39.4 seconds remaining Friday night to give the Green Knights a 4-3 victory over Oswego State and a spot in the NCAA Division III championship game. St. Norbert, which won the title on the same ice in 2008, will play for a national championship at 5 p.m. today against Norwich, a 3-2 winner over Plattsburgh in the other semifinal Friday night.

“It’s great to be back in Lake Placid,” St. Norbert coach Tim Coghlin said. “We’ve felt very familiar here since we walked in the door.”

St. Norbert (24-3-3) was able to take advantage of several costly turnovers by Oswego in a game that featured three ties, seven goal scorers and five goals in an exciting, end-to-end third period. (Source: Green Bay Press Gazette)

Good luck Green Knights!  Bring the title home!
