Westlake: Thank you all!

From the Dave Westlake for Senate Facebook page:

My family and I would like to extend a heartfelt and very appreciative “thank you” to ALL of you who put your lives on hold in one way, shape, or form for the last 17 months to support our run. Regardless of how you participated, you were instrumental in running a campaign that has garnered respect across the state…and across the nation.  We DID change politics in Wisconsin, and the beneficial impact of running the way we did is far-reaching and will be a model for future campaigns to learn from for years.  YOU are to be commended for this…it was always YOUR campaign and you represented our efforts extremely well.  I’m proud to have been a part of the blaze orange army, and I’m honored to have made so many great new friends.

While the turnout last night wasn’t what we were hoping for, after meeting so many thousands of great people and seeing literally every corner of this beautiful state, I HARDLY consider last night a loss. I hope that you all are better off for the experience that we’ve shared…I know without reservation that I am.  I look forward to our paths crossing again–because they most certainly will.

God bless you all…the fight goes on…

Thank you Dave for running a spirited campaign that was honest and focused on the issues.  You inspired many people across this state with your energy, valor, vision, integrity and leadership.  It may not have ended as hoped but then again Rome wasn’t built in a day.  The battle to restore conservative values to the political system and the country is one that is long and hard.  But your campaign brought about change in that many who were never involved in politics before got involved.  The seeds for a future run (?) have been laid.

To other Dave supporters remember that the battle goes on for “true” change.  Whatever you do don’t take your ball and go home because the results weren’t in Dave’s favor.
