The great idea of Liberty

An interesting perspective on this day of remembrance & paying tribute to the victims of the worst attack on American soil.

Always remember

September 11, 2001

Many heroes died that day in the name of freedom.  Some of these heroes liekly saved the U.S. Capitol with their decision to overpower those who hijacked United 93.  Let us always remember the Americans who lost their life this day 7 years ago.

Where were you?

September 11, 2001 is a day that will live in infamy.  Do you remember where you where the day Islamic terrorists attacked us here at home in America?

I do.  I went to bed extrememly late the night before and my dad told me a little before 8 am to turn on the TV because a plane had hit the WTC.  I turned on the TV just as they were showing live video and saw the 2nd plane hit the tower.  I couldn’t believe what I was seeing and I remember just sitting down at the table and watching.  Then seeing the report of the Pentagon being hit it was like “what in the heck is going on??”  The whole day I was glued to my TV as I actually had the day off.  I went to school that evening and the instructor basically let us out early so I went to a memorial service at one of the LCMS churches in town.  Then I went home and watched the non-stop news coverage – which was amazing.  Didn’t have cable so I flipped between Jennings and Rather and Brokaw.  9/11/01- many will never forget where they were or what they were doing that day when the unthinkable happen.
